Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Western Europe and very popular for good reason. Just shy of the 5000 m mark at 4810 m, it’s a massive mountain that offers incredible 360 degree panoramic views from the Matterhorn to the Eiger. We offer a 6 day program that allows you to acclimatise to the altitude in time so you can enjoy your time on the mountain and have the best chance of success. The first half of the week will involve climbing some of the classic alpine ridges or summits around Chamonix to hone your mountaineering skills, familiarity with the equipment, while spending 2 nights in mountain huts at around 3500 m to aid your acclimatisation,. The second half of the week is for the ascent of Mont Blanc, typically staying at the Tete Rousse or Gouter refuges on the classic route. To obtain reservations for these refuges, bookings must be made before October the previous year i.e. 9 months in advance of a trip in June – yes you read that correct, it’s simply that busy and the refuges have limited bed space.
