Ski touring is the discipline that inspires me the most and the reason I am sponsored by Black Crows Skis.  Travelling freely through the majestic mountains and skinning up remote peaks with 360 degree views, away from the crowded ski resorts and their infrastructure. Untracked virgin snow, the excitement of  exploring new terrain, cosy hut nights…

I bought my first touring skis in 1997 and have been hooked ever since skiing as many as 200 days a year. Since then equipment has dramatically improved with wider skis making it a lot easier to ski offpiste, bindings become much lighter and boot design offering performance and comfort at acceptable weights.

My quiver covers everything from a 70 mm under foot light and fast approach to 122 mm Nocta for sidecountry freeride touring. So whether you want an introduction to ski touring, specific coaching, race the PDG, do a traverse of Svalbard, day tour in Lofoten, use the lifts for sidecountry powder, expedition ski mountaineering in a remote corner of the planet, or do a classic multiday hut to hut tour through the Alps then I’m your guide.

Guiding ratios: Variable

1:1 for bespoke ski mountaineering

1:4 for sidecountry  powder

1:6 hut to hut
