Pre-season turns at Le Tour. A velvet bed of hoar frost on the dark side contrasting with sastrugi wind buff on the other, golden late afternoon light and biting cold.

After a year off climbing I have a few alpine routes on my tick list this winter and Le Fayet provides a great training venue. As expected it left me felt as though I had be run over by a bus!

First Ski Tour of the European Winter
Arriving back in Chamonix we were anxious to get out and stretch our legs after a long drive from the UK and we got some beta from Charlie Boscoe where the good skiing was. On the way up we spied a nice little couloir which was accessed from a lovely ridge hike. Lush to be back out in the mountains – good for the soul!
