Couvercle

An early season trip to the gorgeous old Couvercle Refuge coinciding with the full moon and my birthday – as if you need an excuse to go there!

Long days amongst the beautiful golden granite spires.
Col des Courtes was our objective today, again with Mikko and Lauri.
Another fabulous day in the mountains with team Finland - Mikko Heimonen, @lauri_sakari and @mikajoensuu on the South Face of the Chardonnet.
Another early start and fast paced day racing Mikko up the Aiguille d’Argentiere to ski Y Couloir. Just over 5 hours landed me on the top and we were actually a bit early despite me taking Navis and Maestrales for the 2700 m of up! So we sat around in the sun waiting for the skiers left entry to soften before eventually giving up on that and skiing the right hand start. The upper couloir conditions forced us into some pretty technical chop turns but after the junction it was all buttered muffins.
Fast and light to the Col des Cristaux today with the Finnish wads Mikko Heimonen and @lauri_sakari. 0600 start from Argentiere, 1200 at the top and back at the car under an hour later. 2400 m of vert.
In the land of liberty 🇨🇭
Another incredible day with
Ever manage to get out of sync with your GoPro and record lots of conversations but none of the action? Yes, no, well I’ll admit to that brilliant feat today. So here’s the bad stuff to give you a taste of just how good it was out there. Thanks for a fun day @tom_grant_ @minnamaki @jeroim
Yesterday we lost one of the greatest characters around. Any day with Luca would be full of banter, laughter, pantomime and great lines.
